Built for the system you already have
"Bad at money? YNAB can help."

Wealthsplitter assumes the opposite: you already know what to do. You've read the books, built spreadsheets, set up buckets. You don't need to be taught. You need the payday math handled so you can get back to your life.

Build any system
Build, split, track (1 min)
Nested buckets
Build the system you already have in your head. Put 20% towards savings, then split that into an emergency fund and investments. Go as deep as you need.
Sub-buckets split their parent's share automatically.
Percentages, amounts, or whatever's left
Some buckets are always the same ($1,500 for rent). Others should scale with whatever you earn (20% to savings). If it's a $2,000 month or a $10,000 month, your percentages handle it.
Or set a bucket to "leftover." It takes whatever the others didn't claim. After rent, taxes, and savings come out, your spending money lands there automatically.
The income tester lets you preview any amount before you commit.
Picture the whole thing
Once your system is built, see it all at once.
Try a different income and watch it flow through.
Download it as an image to share with a partner or accountant.

Multiple bucket sets
Your system today, your system next year. Save as many setups as you need and switch between them in a tap.
Build a plan for your spouse or partner. Or keep a "what if" set to try a new split before committing to it.
Fine-tune every bucket
Add instructions to any bucket so you know exactly what to do on payday ("Transfer to Marcus HYSA ending 4521"). They show up right on the transaction.
Control which buckets create transactions and which ones auto-complete. Parent buckets that just organize sub-buckets? Turn off their transactions entirely.
Every time you get paid, instantly split
Enter your income. Watch it split through every bucket in your system. No formulas, no manual math, no spreadsheet to maintain.
Each bucket creates a transaction with the exact dollar amount. Check them off as you move the money.
Stats and tracking
Your system isn't done. As your life changes, your percentages should change with it. The stats screen shows you what's actually happening:
- Total and average earned
- Total and average deposited per bucket
- Success rate per bucket
Spot what needs adjusting and adapt over time. Know if your system is working, not just hoping.

Allocation, not tracking
Monarch / Copilot: Pulls in every account to track spending across categories.
Wealthsplitter: No need for a bank connection. You decide where money goes when it arrives, not where it went after.
Spreadsheets: Works, but you redo the math every payday.
Wealthsplitter: Enter income, see the splits, check off each transfer. Works on your phone, no formulas to break.

Bucket budgeting isn't new
"Pay yourself first" goes back to The Richest Man in Babylon in 1926. Elizabeth Warren wrote 50/30/20. Mike Michalowicz wrote Profit First. Ramit Sethi calls it the Conscious Spending Plan. The core idea: allocate your income before you spend it. Wealthsplitter is built for that.
Why I built Wealthsplitter
I had irregular expenses and freelancing income, so the amount to manage changed month to month. I got tired of figuring out how much money to put in each of my savings buckets every time I got paid.
Me at a friend's wedding in Banff in 2023At first, I made a simple spreadsheet to help me. Then I saw other people online looking for the same kind of help. So I turned this spreadsheet into an app. It started as a way to split my income. Now it's the tool I use every time I get paid.
Over two years of use, I've tracked $91K+ at a 99% compliance rate. Every Wealthsplitter subscription goes through the same buckets.
Wealthsplitter is built by just me in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada 🇨🇦.
I've been building software products and leading high performing software teams for over 15 years. With Wealthsplitter, you'll get a carefully designed, stable, affordable system. I don't have any investors, just my customers.
I'd be so happy to have you as one of them.

Frequently asked questions
How is Wealthsplitter different from YNAB?
YNAB makes you assign every transaction to a category and reconcile your accounts. If you already use percentage-based buckets like 50/30/20 or Profit First, that's a lot of moving parts for what you actually need. Wealthsplitter does the math when income lands, then stops. Set your splits, move the money, get back to your life.
I'm switching from YNAB. What do I lose?
Transaction tracking. Wealthsplitter doesn't reconcile transactions or maintain a running balance per category. If transaction tracking was the part of YNAB you valued, this isn't for you. If transaction tracking was the part that wore you out, Wealthsplitter is built for you.
Can I replicate my existing bucket setup?
Yes. The bucket builder supports any structure: percentages, fixed dollar amounts, or a mix of both. You can nest buckets as deep as you need and create multiple bucket sets to compare strategies.
Is this built for irregular income?
Yes. Percentages are the whole point. Whether you earned $2,000 this month or $12,000, your buckets split the same way. No recalculating, no adjusting formulas. It just works. Read more about percentage-based buckets.
Why doesn't this track my expenses?
For most people, daily expense tracking is overkill. If you've already put away what you need for your goals (down payment, retirement, emergency fund), it doesn't matter if you spent a little extra on food this month. Tracking every expense feels productive but it doesn't change the outcome. Wealthsplitter focuses on the one decision that does: where the money goes when it arrives.
How granular can the bucket nesting get?
As granular as you want. Sub-buckets split their parent's share automatically. For example, 20% to Savings, of which 60% goes to an emergency fund and 40% goes to investments.
Is this secure?
Yes. Your financial data is stored securely and is never shared with third parties. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
Does it connect to my bank?
No, and on purpose. Bank connections add complexity an allocation tool doesn't need: permissions to manage and broken syncs to debug. You enter income manually when it arrives, see your splits, and move the money. Two minutes, no bank link required.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time. You'll continue to have access until the end of your billing period.
What happens after the free trial?
After your 35-day free trial, pick a plan to keep going: $7.99 USD/month or $79 USD/year (2 months free). You can cancel anytime during the trial with no charge.
Do you offer refunds?
Yes, I offer a 6-month money back guarantee. If you're not satisfied, let me know and I'll refund your payment.
